ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT|WAshington county

Economic Development|Washington County, located in southeastern Wisconsin near Milwaukee, had been experiencing rapid population and economic growth when they hired Ady Voltedge to revamp its website. The website redesign was an extension of previous branding work that we had done for EDWC, which included a brand board, a new logo, brochures and business cards.

The new website, www.businessreadywi.com, featured many components that increased the site’s interactivity and usability.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The VoltEdit content management system, which drives the EDWC website, made it easy for EDWC to make updates to its website. In fact, it’s as easy as finding the page they wanted to edit and clicking on the text. Christian Tscheschlok, executive director of EDWC, said that the system’s ease of use makes the important task of updating a website very simple.

"Within five minutes of conversation with their team, I was able to go into the website and start making customizations to it," he said. "If you’ve ever used Microsoft Word, if you’ve ever used any type of desktop publishing software at all, you’re in and customizing your website."

LOCATION CENTER

The location center is driven by ZoomProspector, a GIS software application that is integrated into the website. This application allows visitors to view available sites and buildings in the county and view community profiles containing demographic, labor and consumer spending information.

INTERACTIVE INCENTIVE TABLE

Another highlight of the EDWC website is the interactive incentive table, which allows a visitor to select a category of incentives and then view the existing programs. The table also indicates which communities offer the incentive.
